Question

Laserfiche mobile apk on Blackberry

asked on September 16, 2015

Hi,

i have read a few reviews and apparently we can install Laserfiche Mobile APK on the Blackberry Z10.

Is there a app available for Blackberry to avoid this route?

Just need to know if anyone has used it and how stable this is?

Thanks

Gert

Laserfiche does not currently have a native app for Blackberry OS and we did not test running LaserficheMobile Android app in the “Blackberry Runtime for Android Apps”.

According to RIM/Blackberry their Android Runtime is API level 15 (Jelly Bean) and the minimum API Level for LaserficheMobile is 10 (Gingerbread) so it might work but Laserfiche does not officially support this.

A quick check of their unsupported Android APIs doesn’t reveal anything LFMobile uses, but no guarantees it will work.

Thanks Barna,

Another question. The app really works well and looks great. Receiving emails with links for approval to docs in LF works great, just another question. How would the users go about getting a forms notification which will open up the app directly? The address opens up a web page instead?

Really appreciate your assistance.

Thanks

Gert

The email links are generic http links so currently they bring up the Forms page in the mobile browser, not the app. We are considering supporting “mobile links” that would go to the app, not the browser.

On a related note - a notification system is in the works on both Forms server and LaserficheMobile side which will result in notifications in the mobile device’s notification drawer. These notifications will open the LaserficheMobile app. A count of the user’s pending tasks will also be shown in the app as well.

Thanks for the feedback, it helps us focus on features people expect.
