Question

Scanning small documents (slips & receipts)

asked on September 7, 2015

We currently use Fujitsu fi-6800 series. Can anyone recommend alternatives suitable for handling those small and light documents, such as credit card slips and till receipts? We've had some success with Fujitsu Carrier Sheets, and sometimes photocopying the smaller documents to A4 and scanning those photocopies, but this is far from ideal and hurts average handling time at the batch processing stage!

Hi Michael,

The scanners were originally designed for scanning the tachographs from trucks driving around the UK (which is pretty flimsy paper). We have hundreds of these scanners out there scanning everything from receipts, business cards, credit cards as well as standard A4 paper scanning. The biggest consideration is volumes here as they are relatively small in specification in the big world of scanners. My suggestion would be to get in touch with your nearest Panasonic dealer and ask if you can have one 'on trial' for a few weeks and see how you get on.

Hi Michael,

I would recommend the Panasonic KV-S1045C, it actually has an adapter for credit cards/business cards and is specifically designed to handle smaller documents.

Hope this helps!

Hi Chris

Thanks for that recommendation. I'm being very picky here, but cards (credit/business etc) would be pretty stiff and weighty by comparison to those lighter types of till receipts.

Do you know if that scanner would handle those types of lightweight and small documents well?

Sounds like a plan Chris. Thanks again.
