IIS error when installing LF and LF Web on Windows 10 X64

asked on September 7, 2015

Hi All,

When installing LF audit it fails saying that IIS needs to be installed. I’ve followed the instructions in https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1013672 but this only shows how to change the major version. It seems that the install is also looking at the minor version

What does the decimal value for the minor version need to be in the registry? All other components install ok but any web based products fail. This is the new installer downloaded today which includes SP1 for 9.2.1.

Also when I try to start the Laserfiche server service I get the error:-

  • HTTP server initialization failed.  Check that Laserfiche is installed correctly and that no other software is listening on TCP port 80.  If HTTP over SSL/TLS is configured, check that no software is conflicting with the configured HTTPS port.  If the ListenRootUrl setting is set to true, check that IIS is not running.  For more detailed logging please run lfs.exe in console mode or with the -logfile switch.  HttpListener::AddUrl: HttpAddUrl failed Error: 32

&

  • HTTP server module (httpserv.dll) failed to load.

There are no other applications running on port 80? This is pretty much a blank machine apart from a vanilla OS install and MS office 2010 x64.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Cheers!

Can you confirm that you've changed the MajorVersion value to 8 at both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InetStp and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\InetStp

Hi all

I've installed Laserfiche Avante 10.2 in Windows 10 Home machine.

I'm facing the same issue, but not able to resolve this though setting the registry value to 8.

Tried uninstall and reinstalling the Laserfiche server, but still the same issue exists, and below error is keep on appearing when the Laserfiche server attempt to start:

There was an error initializing the Laserfiche Content Repository Service. Function=HttpAddUrlToUrlGroup; Error=0x20; There was an error initializing the HTTP server subsystem..

Only IIS running in port 80. I've tried stopping the IIS and try starting the service, but the issue exists too.

Any Suggestions!

Windows 10 Home does not include IIS so it is not supported for any Laserfiche server products.

Hi Miruna

It has IIS but it does not have the Windows Authentication mode in it.

Is it confirmed that Windows 10 Home is not supported by Laserfiche yet!

We do not support Home editions of Windows 7 and up.

So the 2nd issue, not being able to start the server service has magically fixed itself. Just the IIS issue now.

Also worth noting I get the same error when trying to install Forms or Web Access

Interesting note on this. The issue of other applications running on port 80 is back. After doing some digging using netstat it seems that Cortana uses port 80 under searchui.exe (which I haven't managed to figure out how to kill/disable yet). Overall running LF server from Windows 10 is fraught with problems and issues so I would steer clear anyone who is thinking of this!

Ok....I had somehow misread the KB article to be 18 not 8. Changed it to 8 and all works OK now. Cheers Alexander!
