Hardware Finger Print Related with Format?

Hi Everyone,

I would to know dose the hardware finger print of the server where laserfiche server was installed change when I format the server windows and reinstall the same windows edition?Or the hardware finger print affected by hardware change (ONLY)?

The legacy fingerprint (used by some 8.0 and 8.1 products) could change when the OS was upgraded or reinstalled. The current v2 fingerprint that our products (8.2 and up) use won't change in that situation.

Hi Anas,

 

From my experience the hardware fingerprint only changes with a hardware change. OS format and re-install doesn't change the HWFP.

Be careful the license key is the same though. I think part of the magic formula for the HW key takes into account a hash of the MS OS key.
