Question

opening LF Plus created DVD using Apple Mac

asked on September 4, 2015

I understand that only Web Access (excluding the scanning utility) can run on Mac but just to confirm, if we have a DVD written with LF Plus, are we able to open that using Mac?

I do understand that we can use Parallels OR VMware Fusion to run windows and run the DVD but I am interested in opening the DVD directly through Mac.

No, that isn't possible. You'll have to use one of the alternatives that you've mentioned.

I think you could but the data on that cd will not make any sense.

The repository it makes on the DVD is much like the repository in real life - the individual documents are still scattered in different files for each page with seamingly random filenames and without using the software it's going to be impossible to put back in the right order.

Thanks for your reply Chris.

Yes, as you said, only opening random images is not really helpful. We need to open that in repository like strucuture.

I had a thought when I saw the email come in on your reply.... you might be abel to get it to run using wine (http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/) or Crossover for Mac. Crossover is a paid app, but wine is free. The link is for an easy(ier) wine package for mac.

I've never ever tried it before, and I don't have a generated Laserfiche Plus disc to try it with, but as simple as the software is I wouldn't be surprised if it would let you run it.
