Forms error reporting needs a lot of improvement

asked on September 2, 2015

We don't like the way Forms behaves when it runs into issues over the course of a process.

It just fails silently, and the Forms administrator has to go into the Results section of the business process to see what happened. Even that is not helpful though, because often times the status simply says "suspended" and someone has to remote into the Forms server and check the event viewer for details.

We would like two things:

1. Clear, descriptive error messages that are displayed right in the Results pane (maybe a tooltip next to the "Suspended" text).

2. A way for administrators to get automatically notified when a process step fails.

Number two is especially important because a user can submit a form and get the "thank you" message, not receive any response for several days, follow up with the admin only to find out that the instance threw an error in the backend.

Hi there,

Thanks for your feedback. Forms will address 1 in the next release. Forms will address 2 in future release.
