Question

Unable to save to Laserfiche

asked on August 28, 2015 Show version history

Forms version 9.2.1.1069 is not saving form to the repository for a specific process. It is suspending the activity. At the time the activity suspended, I found two errors within the Event Viewer. Could Laserfiche please give insight into these errors? I am led to believe it may have to do with the volume it is saving to.

Found help files with error notes. Will let you know if it is a space issue.

9009: Out of Space on Device

There is not enough disk space on the server to complete this operation.

Try the following:

  • Check disk space on the server.
  • If the server does not have sufficient space, then you should clear space on the server. One possible way to clear space is to move volumes to another disk.

We have over 8GB of free space on the device, and the same issue.

Please expand on options for this scenario.

There was an error running the profile random while importing the file "C:\QF Templates\random\HulerTIF.tif". (Out of space on device. [9009])

Any resolution here?

It starts slowly, you notice the error in one process - say Forms for instance.  A form error 9009's out at the save to repository task.  Then come the phone calls....."Hey, I am getting a weird error in Laserfiche, something about not enough memory on the device".  Then Workflow comes at you with the same issue.  Suddenly you know.  The E drive must be full.

Thanks for this post.  It was helpful.

If your IT department doesn't have any monitoring tools for disk space, this Microsoft documentation might help you stay ahead of that problem by notifying before the disk is extra super full.

Thanks Miruna!

And the posts were truly helpful.

I also had a scare (I scare easily) after memory was increased and I tried to log on to the Laserfiche Suite and could not.  Was getting the 9009 error's little brother:

" Error executing SQL command General Database error. [ 9008 ] "

when trying to get into LF and also could not get the login page for Forms to come up.  Restarted the server (that the LF Suite is installed on) and everything was back to normal.

Providing this update in case someone else enounters something similar after increasing memory for the repository.

No worries.

9008 is "don't look at me, it's SQL's fault". Based on your description, possibly because it took a bit longer to come back after rebooting the machine after adding memory. If your Forms authentication goes through the Laserfiche Server and not LF Directory Service, it would also be down while the Laserfiche Server can't talk to its SQL.
