Question

mobile 9.3 Windows Desktop App

asked on August 27, 2015

I have recently installed the Laserfiche App from the Windows Store. I can get it to connect to various Laserfiche servers I have on our network.  However, I cannot get it to connect to the repository on the same host as the app.  I have a demo repository installed on my Windows 8.1 laptop.

I have tried using the hostname, IP address and even tried connecting to a different network. I can use the Windows App on a different host to connect to my own demo repository.

Thanks

Hi Jonathan,

Sounds like you were trying to connect to a mobile server on the same machine where your Windows app and repository are? If that's the case, due to Microsoft's security concern, most Windows 8 applications cannot usually send network traffic to the local computer. To do this, you need to install the EnableLoopback Utility and enable Loopback capabilities for the Laserfiche Mobile app.
Please follow the steps in trouble shooting\ section "Laserfiche Mobile Server"\Installing the Laserfiche Mobile Server and App on the Same Machine", see if this solves your issue, thank you.

Sader,

1) Can you elaborate on this "Demo Version"? We do not have a "Demo Version" of the Laserfiche App Server.

2) And what version of "windows server"? 2012, 2016?

3) Can you confirm on the windows app, that you are not connecting to a server that is on the same machine as where the windows app is being run?

Hi Jonathan,

Can you connect using web access on the demo repository?

Cheers!

The LF Mobile client is dependent on an IIS application being installed and configured.  The LF Mobile client does not connect directly to the LF Server like a standard client, but instead connects to a Web host.  Install and configure Web Access to provide LF Mobile access.

The Mobile app needs to connect through it's web server, but it doesn't actually require Web Access anymore. The Mobile app connects to the Mobile server which now connects directly to the Laserfiche Server.

The Laserfiche Mobile server does not require Web Access to run - it has its own license which you can get a copy of if you own RIO or if you have WebAccess or Forms.
