It would depend on what initiates the start of the workflow.  If it is a document being created, you would use the "Retrieve Filed Values" workflow action and have it return the "Created By" field, if the Workflow was initiated by a Forms process, then "Retrieve LF Forms Content" and return a submitted by field, etc....

The question was whether the workflow is started by an event in Laserfiche, like a document being created or a field being changed or if it is triggered by a a user starting a business process from the Laserfiche Client or triggered by a service task in Forms or started by pressing the "play" button in the Workflow Designer. We don't know anything about your setup, so "initiated by managers" is not very useful for troubleshooting.

How did you determine the initiator value is blank?

Hello Miruna,

The workflow is started when a manage from the laserfiche client right click on an entry ( whether it is an excel, word or pdf) and start the business process.

i have inserted a token to capture the initiator value, however am getting same as blank value

The Client sets the user name to the currently logged in user when starting business processes. It's hard to troubleshoot this issue without actually seeing your workflow details. Please contact your reseller and open a case with Tech Support.
