"Checked Out By" only visible to some users

asked on August 21, 2015 Show version history

The column "Checked Out By" of the shortcut to the document that is currently being checked out displays the value correctly.  But this is only visible for some users.  For some other users the column heading is there but it displays as blank.  Is there a permission or access right that I need to set so this is visible for all users? Thanks.

I think that the user needs the "Manage Entry Access" privilege in order to see who checked a document out if it is not themselves. This is how it works in the admin console at least.

Hi Nigel,

Both users belong to one group (the same group).  They both have Manage Entry Access privilege (in assigned privileges and view effective rights).  The document was checked out by a user other than these two users.  However, only one of these two users can see the "Checked Out By".

In that case I'm not too sure then. I was thinking tags too but that would prevent the user from seeing the document, not just hide the checked out by information.

I can't say I've come across it before, sounds like a job for LF support....

Hi Chalinee,

I noticed your screenshot is from Web Access. Do you know if all of your users use Web Access, or some using Laserfiche Client? The issue may due to the "Checked Out By" column for shortcut entries currently behaves a little different in Laserfiche Client and Web Access.

Hi Niqi,

We have the same issue on both web access and laserfiche client.  I have showed this to our VAR and he said it looks like a bug.  He is going to report this issue.
