Audit Trail - Text Extraction/OCR

asked on August 19, 2015

Is there an event type in Audit Trail that tells you the point at which a user extracted text/performed OCR?

OCRing and extracting text will generate a "Modify Page" event type for audit reporting. You can then see which user performed the operation on which document.

So if i see a Modify Page event in Audit trail that means the user OCR'ed the page?  Could something else trigger that event type.  What is text extraction?

See the help file for the description of the events affecting pages. Page events also indicate which page part was affected. OCRing the page would generate 2 "modify page" events for each page, one with "locations" and one with "text" as the page part. If the image was generate as part of the same action, there would also be another one with an "image" page part close in the timeline to the these 2. The page number is also indicated if you need to correlate these events.

What other actions would be lumped into Modify Page -  just OCR?  What about document separation or rotate, etc.?
