StartingInstanceName token not displaying the correct date format when used in the Email activity

asked on August 13, 2015

Hi all,

I have used the StartingInstanceName token in the content of the Email activity but the date format is showing like: WorkFlow Name - 8-12-2015 9:58:04 AM. Can you please let me know how to put the date format to dd/mm/yyyy in the Email?

Please note that on the server, the date is configured as dd/mm/yyyy.

Thanks

Kind Regards,

Sheila

This is by design because the business process names don't support slashes.

Ok, Miruna.

Is it not possible to format the date time format as dd-mm-yyyy in workflow designer? Because, in the example above (- 8-12-2015 9:58:04 AM), it is showing the month first i.e. August. Moreover, please advise why there is a '-' before date time.

Thanks to help.

That part is possible. You can set a custom instance name in the business process options. There is a token for the workflow name and you can use the formatted date token. The formatting for it is dd-MM-yyyy, though. "m" is for minutes, "M" is for months.
