Question

cannot resize stamps

asked on August 12, 2015

I have users who apply a stamp... it is small and they want to resize it.  System will not allow them to resize it.  What rights do they need to resize a stamp?

Hello Bonnie,

Rights and privileges should not affect a user’s ability to resize stamps. To create and modify annotations in the first place, a user would need a minimum set of the following entry access rights: Browse, Read, See Annotations and Annotate.

After these rights have been assigned, a user should be able to make and edit annotations. To resize a stamp that you’ve already created, simply click on the stamp, hover the cursor over a drag handle, and drag the stamp until it reaches your desired size. The only limitation is that stamp size cannot be bigger than the current document.

There are a number of reasons why you might be experiencing this issue. For example, the stamp might be protected. If the stamp is protected, only the annotation’s creator or the document owner will be able to edit it. You can verify this by right clicking on the stamp to open up its properties. Under the metadata tab there is a checkbox showing whether a stamp is protected or not.

If you are still unable to resize stamps, it might be due to the version of the software. Which version of Laserfiche do you currently have? Are you using the Laserfiche Client, or Web Access? This was a known issue in Laserfiche Web Access 9.1 but we have since resolved the issue. I would recommend upgrading to the latest version if you have not already done so.

If you have further questions regarding security requirements on stamps and other annotations, please refer to the Laserfiche Administration Guide help file.

I hope this helps!
