Is there a way to submit a form on behalf of somebody else so that the form is then tied to that person instead of the initiator who submits?
Thanks,
Michael

Unless I am missing something, why couldn't you use the value from the dropdown to determine who the task/form is assigned to rather than the initiator?
Very good Answer. I was imagining where depending on who it is submitted for, it would go to a different person, not the submitted for person.
My thought was is Assistance was submitting for Manager 1, then Supervisor 1 would need to approve. In my case, the Task would be for Supervisor 1, not the Submitted for. If the task is for the Manager, then yours would be much simplier.
Wouldn't that then send the approval to Submitted_For to approve/reject instead of making them the one who it's being submitted for?
There is currently no way to change the initiator of the submission.
What is the case scenario?
We have assistants who, under our old forms system, will submit leave requests and such for their supervisors as directed.
Depending on how many people you are talking about, you can create a gateway and have the decision create a task for a user based on the answer.
What I've created so far is a checkbox asking if they're submitting on behalf of somebody else. If Yes, then a dropdown appears that the user can then select from. How would I configure a gateway to utilize the dropdown choice so that the form goes to their inbox instead of the initiators?
OK details are very basic, pictures attached. Basically look at Gateway 1. You have your Gateway, and what happens when a drop down is chosen (Gateway details). I work backwards and create the user tasks, and the forms (or approval) for each outcome. Once that is completed, you configure your gateway. On the Gateway details, under Path Conditions, there is a tool bar that allows you to chose what condition chose which Path. So you can say, if Drop down A is this Manager, go to Manager 1, on the next condition If Dorp Down is is Manager 2 Go to Manager 2.
Make sure you have a path for if submitting on behalf of somebody else is NOT checked.
That's basically the process I'd already created, with one path being for On Behalf of and the other for not On Behalf of. The problem I have is that I don't know how to reassign the form to a different user than the one who initiates the form.
