Question

Escalation process

asked on August 11, 2015

Hi everyone,

I have a workflow where I have to cater absence of users. The document should be routed to someone else. I have tried the deadline activity where after 2 minutes if the first user did not action the workflow routes the document to someone else. The issue that I am having is that after 2 minutes my shortcut disappear from the first user folder but did not show up in the second one. Do I have to add a wait condition ? if yes, where?

Can anyone help pls?

Regards,

Ketsia

It sounds like your wait conditions on Re-Route Entry to MF are already satisfied when the shortcut is created, so the activity moves on to the next step. Have you checked the instance details to see how the condition evaluation went?

I have checked, and put the wait condition just before it is routed to MF and this is what I get :

Do you think it's the wait condition at MF that should change?

Yes. There's only one evaluation of the condition in Wait For Entry Change, meaning the document hits that stage with the criteria already satisfied, so it will not pause in it.

Hi Miruna when I try to test the WF without the conditional sequence that I had at the top it works fine, I mean after 2 minutes it re-route the document to the other person and remains in its folder even without adding a wait condition before. But for my workflow I need the conditional sequence. I am a bit confused about how to get this right?

In my workflow  I have to add escalation process to it. This is my actual workflow:
