Business Process Details

asked on August 5, 2015 Show version history

Hi everyone,

I made a workflow with a simple routing and I want to be able to get proper details about my documents while uing the business process step activity. My flow is like this :

I have 3 participants and I want to route a document directly to the last one without passing by the first two participants. The problem is that the business process details gives me history about the document having passed the first two participants when this particular document was not routed to them initially.

Please note that my workflow starts with the business process activity and associate entries where I have chosen Starting entry as default. For the other BP activities I have chosen the trustees concerned etc...

You may see it on the picture below

Can anyone help me pls.

Thanks,

Ketsia

Can you attach the screenshot?

It sounds like your first 2 steps need to be wrapped in a Conditional Sequence in order to check if the document should be routed to them or not.

Sorry for the images I did attach them yesterday I Think there was an error. Can you see them now? Thanks

What are the conditions for the Conditional Sequences? Have you looked at the instance details to see how they were evaluated? Since the history shows it hitting the Route and Processing by CFO step, it means your condition was satisfied (otherwise Workflow wouldn't get to those activities).

Thank you for your answer Miruna. Please find below what I have as condition for my conditional sequence

Please note that when I choose my staff list I did not chose CFO that's why am confused about the history of the BP details

This is not the same workflow as above. In this one, you have the Conditional Sequence inside the Business Process Step, so the step activity is executed every time. The setup in your original workflow with the Business Process Step inside the Conditional Sequence is what you need.

My mistake when I sent the picture, but even when I place my BP activity inside the conditional sequence I get the same problem

Hi Miruna,

Do I have to put the different stakeholders in parallel in order to get the business process details right  specific for each route that I have?

All activities contained in a Parallel activities will be executed, so that's not going to do what you need. Have you checked out the Conditions tab in the instance details to see how your conditions evaluated? It sounds like the conditions are being satisfied when you think they shouldn't be.

This is what I have in my condition tab : If staff list field = CFO then it will route to that specific user

But again please note that I have put my BP activity inside the conditional sequence and still giving me all the routes where my document initially did not go.

Your screenshots keep showing the BP Step outside the Conditional Sequence. Could you post screenshots of the workflow definition and conditions tab from the instance details so we can see exactly what the workflow looked like when it ran?

Hi Miruna,

I have been able to find the error, when I tried to separate the other conditional sequence that I have below from the first business process at the top it works fine. I mean I can get the information that I want
