Problem Assigning Access Rights to Process Using AD Groups

asked on July 30, 2015

We have a problem where a user is assigned to a group, and the top group is assigned access to a process, but they are not able to see the process when they click on Start Process. The user to group association is as follows: user-> DE Principal-> Elementary Principal-> Districtwide Principal. The Districtwide Principal group is assigned permission to the Forms process.

Any idea why this is not working? Is it not able to drill down that far?

User should be able to inherit from group's group. Can you check by adding "DE Principal" group to access rights and see if user can see the process? If it work, then try a higher level of group.

I tried applying the DE Principal group to the access rights and the user still did not see the form show in the Start Process list.

Is the user accessing the business process/form from a hyperlink? If you have the user actually log out of Forms and then goes back to http://server/forms and manually logs in again, can they then browse the business process and start it that way?

They are not accessing the business process directly from a hyperlink. They are going to https://server/forms and manually log in, click on Start Process and are presented with a blank list.

Can you try add the user directly to access rights and see if the process exists on the list?

And can you try using Laserfiche users and Laserfiche groups to see if the inheritance works?

If the above is working properly, then I would suggest openning a support case to diagnose your AD environment.

I can add the user directly to the access rights for the process and it works correctly.

I am not able to try adding the Laserfiche users or Laserfiche Groups as the users in question are Forms Participant users.
