Question

WebLink Document Viewer Defaults.

asked on July 30, 2015

I have a client who is using WebLink for people to review a set of documents within Laserfiche. The users reviewing the documents are not allowed to copy any of the documents and the documents are not allowed to leave the room that they are reviewing them in. To do this we force the document to open in the WebLink Document Viewer. The only problem is that everytime a new user logs in to review files both the check boxes that say "PDF files" and "Other electronic documents" have to be check so the documents will show. without those checked the users have no idea how to pull up the documents. Can we somehow set these two options on for all users that use WebLink?

You can have those checked by default by adding two attributes to the public user account accessing WebLink. The attributes are

[SETTINGS]OpenEdocAsDoc

[SETTINGS]OpenPDFAsDoc

and they should both be set to Yes.

To add these attributes, open up the Laserfiche Administration console and navigate to the repository, users and groups tab, then users. Select the public user and look in the attributes tab. Look for Settings in the drop down menu and scroll through the attributes looking for the two I listed above. If they are there, change the values to Yes. If they aren't, click the 'Add...' button and list the name as '[Settings]OpenEDocAsDOC' and for data just enter 'Yes'.
