LF Scanning - strange issue? Feature Request?

I have a user who scans differently than I am used to.

This is with Basic Scanning, 9.2.1.562

The user will fill out the template fields, then hit the scan button. 

Then she hits "new document" to save the current doc and start the new document.

The behavior here is different than if you scan first, then fill out the fields, then hit "new doc"

In this case, the fields are NOT cleared.  And, if the user tabs from field to field, the existing data is not highlighted for easy data entry.

Can anyone verify? 

 

These users are moving from v7 and encountering a few interface differences.  That is expected, but this issue seems to be an interface inconsistency.

Hi Michael,

When you set the field values first, prior to scanning a document, you are modifying the default properties that will carry through the remaining time that Laserfiche Scanning is still open.

If the user scans a document first and then modifies the field data, then that only applies to that specific scanned document (i.e. document properties)

If the intent is for the user to scan multiple documents and setting different field data for each, then they should scan the document first and then modify the fields for that individual document.
