Question

What I need to back up regular in case there is a disaster

asked on July 26, 2015

Hello

My system admin asked me what i need to back up in case there is a disaster.

I have Laserfiche Rio

Repository database and search catalog and audit logs and physical volume on the same VM

Repository directory on a VM

What are the most critical files i need to back up

What i can exclude?

I have already read the back tutorials on Laserfiche, however the explanation is not clear for me.

Any suggestion

Hi Iqbal,

In a nut shell, as long as you have the SQL databases backed up and the Laserfiche volumes then that should have you covered. I've attached some useful white papers which hopefully will answer your question in more detail. Even though it says Laserfiche 8, it's the same for 9. wink

Cheers! smileyyes

So everything is on the same VM?

If that's the case, you should be able to just take regular snapshots of that VM.

If you want to get more granular, the most critical components to back up are the database and the volumes. If you have audit data, back those up too.

There's more detailed information in the online help files for administration.

Dear Ersoz,

I have Repository database and search catalog and audit logs and physical volume on a SINGLE VM

Repository directory on another VM

In case of a disaster, what should I back up on a regular interval
