Question

Emailing from Laserfiche .MSG Format

asked on July 23, 2015

Hi,

When emailing a document from Web Access manually (using Outlook) - Laserfiche creates an .MSG file with the attached document. Is there anyway to change the format of the email that is generated to HTML rather than Plain Text? It's not an issue as such, rather an inconvenience to users having to change their Outlook settings.

Many thanks,

Dom

Hi Dominic,

This is actually Microsoft Outlook functionality and cannot be changed within Laserfiche. If you right click a document on your desktop and select send to>Mail Recipient you will notice the same behavior.

Microsoft have a KB article which explains how to change this. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/234487

Hope this helps! smileyyes

Is there a way you can provide an updated link to this article by chance? Thank you. Denny

Archive.org is often a helpful tool for broken links: https://web.archive.org/web/20150511123526/https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/234487.  Note that the KB in question is not ours and we have no control over its publishing.

I'm finding that emails from web client are in pain version and when sent the hyperlink is not active and the text of the email does not get sent. I will post a separate topic on this.
