Quick Fields - Adding line break to metadata field

asked on July 22, 2015

Hi,

Question: How to edit a metadata value and add line break to it?

We have scanned a paper image which contains a text field section. The text here are received as 'Address1','Address2'(optional), 'City','State','Zip' - each in different line within the section.

When the Zone OCR scans this field as multi line text, it just appends all the text together in one single line.

Is it possible to split them to multiple lines as it is received?

Is it possible to edit hte metadata and add line breaks to it?

Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

If you want to separate them and place them in different lines within the same field, make sure the option next to Create multi-value token is set to True in the Advanced Options dialog box for the Zone OCR process.

You can read more about this option in the Quick Fields help files.

If you're reading the address from the image with Zone OCR, the data already contains the line breaks. The Client will display them if the field length is over 50 characters.
