Question

Available Sources - Forms Lookup - Not propagating

asked on July 17, 2015

Hi All,

Not being a Forms Guru I am starting to 'play' to familiarise myself with Forms.

I am trying to setup a DB lookup to populate a drop down from an external DB in forms. I've added several data sources and the data connections test successfully.

However when I go to create a lookup rule, no sources are listed. It's just a blank drop down.

What am I missing? Is there something I need to refresh or sync?

I've tried re-booting the server LF forms is hosted on (after re-starting the forms routing service) and it's still blank? angry

Any help much appreciated. yes

Did you add the process to the data source using that "Add/remove" button right underneath the Details about the server in the first screenshot?

In LF Forms, you need to not just add the data source, but also define which processes will be allowed to use it. This is a separation of security as you need to explicitly give access to each process for each data source they are allowed to use.

That's the ticket Kenneth! Simple when you know how! Although that's not very intuitive... frown

Cheers! yes

Thank you Chris for asking this question. I was running into the same issue and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working.

I agree that it is not intuitive. As a user/admin I would like the ability in the process modular or the forms setup to select with data source the form could use rather than needing to go back to the data sources each time. Just a suggestion.
