Question

no electric file component search slow

asked on July 14, 2015 Show version history

In version 9.1 (service pack 2), we have found the search on "Electronic Documents" has decreased in Performance.  Especially when using the "No electronic File Component" Under the 'Electronic Documents' Search.  I have used the search in the past with other searches (such as Date, User and Document \Folder Name) and the results have been displayed within seconds but now I use this search again, I find it now runs for minutes and then eventually I get a time out.  Do you have an advice on how to increase the performance?

Do you find that it is only Electronic Files searches are affecting your performance? If you did a search for (for example) Date, and then a Date and Electronic Files search, do you find there is difference in the search times?

Without looking at the system in detail, it's difficult to determine where the performance issue may lie. I recommend contacting your reseller who will be able to take a look and open a support case with us if necessary.

This presentation will give you some general tips on improving search efficiencies.

Hi David,

Performance is mostly drawn from the server specs that Laserfiche is deployed on, with most of the emphasis around the SQL server or instance used to drive Laserfiche. There are many things to consider and many things that can be altered/changed to increase performance.

If you would like to troubleshoot this further please feel free to contact me directly and we can take a more in depth look together.

Cheers!

This issue seems to be linked to 9.1.1 SP2. 9.1.1 SP1 experiences the issue, but 9.1.1 SP2 seems to have resolved the issue. I also tested this in 9.2.1 and the results were displayed in good time.

@████████- I know this related back to 9.1, but it's the exact same issue.
