How to create different versions of word document in WA on a any browser available on Mac !

asked on July 13, 2015 Show version history

Dear Presales/Support, i have a prospective customer who have few end-user only using Mac machines, so in order for them to access and upload their documents to Laserfiche they will only have access to LF WA through their Safari or any other available browser on their Mac Machine. I would like to know in detail how can they use versioning in Webaccess especially for Office applications since we also know that Office integration is not available in Mac.

I would appreciate if i could get to know exactly how to achieve the above based on the scenario explained for Mac users.

Hey there,

Their are two features in WA that the prospective customer can use to version control their office documents from their Macs.

  1. Upload New Version feature- Here, they would upload an uploaded copy of the file to Web Access, and that file will become the latest version.
  2. Check out and Check in- they can check out the version controlled office document, downloading the file locally. They can then modify the file locally and check the file back in. The newly checked in file will be stored as the latest version.

Hi Ryan, appreciate your prompt reply, can you please elaborate or infact demonstrate point number 1 in more detail.

Thanks.
