Question

QuickFields - Is there an easier User Interface to edit/correct scanned images?

asked on July 8, 2015

Hi,

Question #1:

We are trying to use Quick Fields to fetch the details from the scanned images.  There are more than 60+ metadata fields and I assume they will be stored in the repository.

Our question is, is there a better/easier User Interface that allows easier navigation across the scanned details and edit/correct the discrepancies? Does Quick Fields highlight if a required field is missing/invalid?

We believe it would help the user to just navigate to the invalid fields instead of scrolling all the 60+ metadata fields.

Highly appreciate your response.

Thank you!

If a field is missing data that is in a required field then there will be a red explanation mark next to it.  This also applies if the data exceeds the limit of the field. Other than that the only option you have with the fields in Quick Fields is you can order them differently than how they are ordered on the template in Laserfiche.

Thanks for the quick reply. This helps.

One more question.

  • Incase of validation errors - Is there a way to highlight the image field corresponding to the metadata field?  This will allow verification to go quickly.

It seems like you're looking to use Zoom Fields

The only highlight is the red explanation mark

If there are certain fields that you expect never to have errors, you might consider hiding these fields (via Configure Fields). That way, scanner operators won't have to scroll through quite so many fields to view the ones marked with errors.
