Question

Question

unable to view submission after submitting a form

asked on July 8, 2015 Show version history

According to the design of the process modeler, when a user submits a form, a Thank you note must be displayed along with options to download or email their submission. The submission is then sent for approval.

However, when a user submits the form, after the 'Thank you' and  'Your form has been submitted.' notes, it takes a long time to load the submission and finally displays 'Your submission cannot be previewed at this time.'

Neither does the user get the options to download or email their submission nor does the submission go through the approval process.

Thank you!

Your form has been submitted.
Your submission cannot be previewed at this time.

It may be related with routing service not properly running. Can you try restarting the routing service?

Never mind, the Forms Routing Service had crashed. Starting it resolved the issue, and the submissions all came through.

In order for the Thank you page to display a way for the user to download or email the form, it must be enabled in the Process Modeler. Simply go into the Process Modeler for the process in question and double click on the Start icon. Then click on the "Thank You Message" tab. Underneath the message, you will see options to enable what you are looking for.

The download and email options are enabled in the Process Modeler.

After the 'Thank you' and  'Your form has been submitted.' notes, it takes a long time to load the submission and finally displays 'Your submission cannot be previewed at this time.'

I found that mine was not Started at all.  Any explainable reason why it stopped?  Crashed?

Did you ever manage resolve this issue? We are running into it this morning. None of the submissions are going through.

Seems to correlate with this message. Not sure if it is exclusive to the service being stopped. My service is still running.

As I review this more I think this is just a performance limitation. The timeframe to prepare the image is very short, and if it is not done in time, it will choose not to display it at all or create the download. Since only so much CPU time is available, if multiple users make this request at the same time, one might be chosen to not be provided a file.
