asked on July 5, 2015

Hi

Is it possible to track the document using location when uploading the document in Laserfiche client?

I have a requirement as once we upload the document in the folder,i need to set the physical document location where these documents should locate.once the document is physically relocated to another location,i need to set new location again in laserfiche, and i need to track the document physical location in laserfiche client. Is it possible via Records Management?if not please suggest me any turnaround solution to achieve this?

Am I right to say you are you storing scans of a physical paper document but still keeping the paper document? You could always add a metadata field (e.g. Paper Storage Location) letting you know where the paper document is held and when someone moves the paper files, they can go into the Laserfiche Client and update the field.

The Laserfiche product does not have automated physical records tracking built into it, but there is a PDP product available that integrates with Laserfiche to link the Physical Records Management with your EMC.

Check out Infolinx WEB Express and Infolinx WEB Enterprise

I have tried to find this out as well.  After a few discussions and research we are looking at purchasing Infolinx as it is the physical records aspect that we needed to manage our paper files....I was recently at the ARMA conference in Calgary and they had a few booths set up with different vendors.  I had a really good conversation with Chip Benson from Infolinx and what our municipality was looking for.  Very helpful and it integrates with Laserfiche seamlessly.  Hope this helps.
