Question

Scan feature is disabled on user's login

asked on July 2, 2015

Hi all,

I have enabled the Scan option from the list of feature rights on a group and the user is found within this group. But the user is still seeing the Scan button as grayed out. I have even applied the scan feature rights at user level as well, but this is not working.

Thanks to advise accordingly.

Kind Regards,

Sheila

It's probably one of two things.  Either the user does not have Create Document rights to the folder in which they are trying to scan, or they do not have the Scanning component installed on their pc.  From Add/Remove Programs, modify the Laserfiche Client installation, and see if the Laserfiche Scanning component is checked.

Hi Sheila,

Does the user have the 'create documents' access right on the selected folder?

Is the user member of more than one group?  Please make sure that the user is not part of a group that does not have rights to Scan in the repository.

Also, if you are trying to scan within a document and the scan button is not available, you should check volume security and make sure that the user has rights to save into the volume that the document resides in.

Yes. Create Documents access right has been granted at the folder. The scan option has been enabled.

Thanks a lot

Kind Regards,

Sheila
