Question

QF Laserfiche Capture Engine does not run post processing tasks

asked on June 30, 2015

I have setup Post Processing to Delete the document without confirmation.

I say Yes to this message

After the session runs and stores the documents my original documents are still there. If I run QF over and over it just keeps creating duplicates of the same documents.

View the Processing Information tab in the Processing Information pane and see if there are any errors or warnings reported that are related to the inability to delete the source documents.

The only errors that shows is this:

Warning    11    Error occured while trying to scan document id=9009493, name=Untitled, error=Unknown error    Laserfiche Capture Engine        0

That is one of the two documents in the folder setup for scanning. It doesn't say anything about why it would not delete it.

Found the other error for the other document.

Warning    11    Error occured while trying to scan document id=9009493, name=Untitled, error=Unknown error    Laserfiche Capture Engine        0

Does this issue happen with all documents? Take one of the sample TIFF images that's found in the Laserfiche Client program files folder and import that into the repository. Make sure that's the only document found in the folder that Quick Fields scans from. See if the same issue occurs where it can scan and store that sample document, but can't delete it.

If the issue still occurs, first let us know the exact version of Quick Fields being used (check Help > About) and also let us know the exact version of the Laserfiche Server. Next, confirm that the user you've configured in the Capture Engine scan source actually has rights to delete the document.

Finally, if further assistance is needed to troubleshoot the matter, then go ahead and open a support case.

It does delete other files coming in. Just the two mentioned along with the error, so it seems to be related to the error. In the past this would happen when a user would put a corrupted tiff in the repository but neither of these contain corrupted tiffs. So now it just appears to not be running the delete task.

The error only references one document, the one with entry ID 9009493.

Try applying the latest Quick Fields 9.0 patch from KB 1013636 and see if the issue still occurs. If it does, then create a case and attach a briefcase of that specific problematic document as you've indicated other documents are processed fine by Quick Fields and deleted successfully.
