How to save the default document name on the Scanning screen

asked on June 19, 2015 Show version history

Hi all,

From LF Scanning, I want to add a default document name to a template.. But, the Save button is not found on the page.

How do I save the default properties I added?

Thanks

Kind Regards,

Sheila

Hi Sheila,

If you want to set default document name based on template fields values, just follow these steps:

  1. In LF scanning window go to File -> Options -> Scanned Document tab
  2. Set Document name to: <Use last scanned document name> , and Template to: your preferred template like "SIFB Planter's Document
  3. Click OK button
  4. In the Document Manager set the template you want and then set the Default document name to: %(Fields.Submitted Date) %(Fields.Document Type)

Now every time you open LF scanning you just need to fill the fields and scan, and the document will be named based on the fields values.

In the scanning window, go to File - Options and then you can set default values.  I don't have scanning infront of me, but I think that the tab to set what you want is New Documents.

Hi Abdellah,

Thanks a lot for this explanation.

I have done these steps in my Admin profile and it is taking the changes (i.e the default document name is already being set) :).

Q1: But, when I tried it out in another user's profile, the default document name has not been set automatically. Does this means that I have to apply these steps you mentioned for every users that I have in my repository?

Q2: But, when I switched to another template name, the value of the default document name is still there. Is it not possible to clear the value in the default document name when switching to other templates?

Thanks

Kind Regards,

Sheila

The settings are per user. The document name is not tied to the template, so it will not automatically be wiped out when you change the template.
