Can an entry's owner be a Group instead of a User?

I'm getting conflicting information on this question so I'd like to get it definitively answered - the PowerPoint from IG301 says:

"Use the Set Entry Owner activity to reassign ownership to the group who should own these documents"

But the Workflow 9.2.1 release notes says: 

"You can configure the Set Entry Owner activity to use a group returned by the Find Group activity. However, since entry owners cannot be groups, this configuration will fail at runtime."

Technically, yes, but really no. The server does not block it, but it does not check group membership either. So ownership of an entry does not propagate to the group members, which is why the Client and Workflow block you from setting the owner to a group.
