Question

Question

The pasted text was too long and has been truncated

asked on June 15, 2015

After the upgrade to Laserfiche 9.2, users started having problems with the error message. It turns out that although the field width was set to 8, the users have always pasted in 8 characters + space (the field they copied from in another application just has an additional space at the end), and in version 8, the Laserfiche client truncated the last character silently and stored 8 characters into the field.

Is there some way to disable the warning and just have the field silently truncate, since that is the behavior we want?

There is no way to hide this warning but we will look into making it smarter about truncating trailing spaces automatically.

This would probably be a good candidate for the option "do not show this message again". There might be instances where cutting it off would be the norm, and having an option to override it would be nice.

I can't think of any current use cases but I can imagine it might be handy.

This has been resolved in the Laserfiche desktop Client 10.1.
