Scanning always prompting for source

asked on June 12, 2015

The current version of the client I am working with is 9.0.3.798. With this version of the client I am continuously prompted for the scan source. I have unchecked the box when opening up scanning to not prompt for the source. The scanning setting is using TWAIN drivers for the scanner. I went ahead and changed the permissions for the users on the machine for the following folders:

C:\Program Files\Laserfiche

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche

C:\Program Files (x86\Laserfiche

C:\Program Files (x86\Common Files\Laserfiche

I also went through the registry at the root and added the user to have the allow to modify privilege. The user is part of the administrators group for the machine as well. I did attempt to run a repair on the client though now it is prompting me that a firewall is blocking the scanner. I will try to resolve the second issue on my own after I have had some details about the former. If there are any other folders that would require this permission change please let me know. Thanks!

Is your user local admin?
If you reboot the machine and login with a different windows/LF account, do you get the same behavior?

The user is only part of the administrators group on the machine. I have tried to log in with the user administrator which is the local admin on the machine. This did work until I restarted the machine. After this was done the changes would not save.

What happens when you reboot the box and login with a different windows/LF user - do not use the same original problem account?  Does this work for that other user?  You noted that "This did work until I restarted the machine. After this was done the changes would not save."  Are you saying that the issue is user specific on the machine?
