Question

Returning to a form

asked on June 11, 2015

I have a situation where users will be recording their hours spent working on a legal case.  I plan to create a form where they can record their hours and allow them to come back to the form periodically so they can add the time as they do the work.

My question is, I know that if I check that I want to be able to come back to the form I can get an email with a link.  Is it possible if I logged into forms manager that I could see all of the forms I'm working on in one view?  Since these lawyers will be working on multiple cases at once it will become cumbersome for them to keep track of emails and links.  These users will all be external to the network so if they were to login they would be using participant licenses - just in case that makes a difference.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

If the user has a full named user license or participant license yes, they can see all saved drafts in one location called My Drafts in the Forms Inbox area.

Currently it is a little cumbersome for users to navigate those as the saved drafts currently do not offer a way to save them with descriptive titles, so it only says Saved Draft for all of them. Hopefully this will change in Forms 10.

Hi Sandy,

I normally give the user a button on the form labelled as "Save". I then re-route this submission back to the user who submitted it. This way, when they log in again and goto their Inbox on Forms, they will see the Time sheets they're busy with and you can give them descriptive labels as well. Here is a screenshot of how it might look. Obviously you would plug in your own paths and additional buttons for the user:

Just a note to Sheldon's suggestion, if you are going to save the process history along with the form when it is saved into Laserfiche, this could make that history extremely long depending on how many times it was saved.
