Question

"The PDF file did not match" - Multiple Fill PDF components

asked on June 11, 2015

I am having two issues with the "Fill Out PDF Form" component. The first issue occurs when the "Merge the field content into image" box is not checked. As you can see in the screenshot below, the fields on my form stay blue unless you click them individually.

By selecting "Merge the Field Content into the Image", the fields are shown properly, however I get a second error when using this method. My workflow fills out the information shown above then passes the document to the HR Manager for Approval. The HR manager fills out the employee number in a metadata field and saves the document. I am using a second Fill out PDF component to then update the PDF form with the HR Approval status and the Employee Number shown below. However, I am receiving the warning "The PDF file did not match" and the fields are not updated.

When I look at the demo's the "Merge the Field Content into the Image" box is not checked, and the fields are displayed properly, is this an Adobe Issue?

Is it best to use the "Merge the Field Content into the Image" check box or is it best to address why my fields remain blue and unreadable after Laserfiche fills out the form?

Try using the Align field data option when you click on the gear for the fill out PDF form options in the designer. This should fix both your issues as the reason it doesn't match is because the workflow no longer has the same fields as it has been merged into the document.
