Question

Excel 2013 crashes

asked on June 9, 2015

When a user drags and drop an excel file into the Laserfiche client. Excel 2013 will crash. Please note that Excel 2013 is closed when the excel file is imported into Laserfiche. The Laserfiche client we use is version 9.1.1.486.

Also if the Excel 2013 add-in was used to save the spreadsheet into Laserfiche, no errors are returned.

Has anyone seen the same issue or know how to resolve?

This is a known issue that appears to be related to specifically using Excel 2013 and while generating text for new documents. You can continue working around the issue by using the Office Plugin to save the file into Laserfiche or you can try using Excel 2010 or turning off text generation for new documents in the Laserfiche Client.

Do you happen to know if this is going to be fixed in a newer or future version of Laserfiche?

We've noticed the same issue with a client using Excel 2016. They are on LF version 9.1.1.548.

I've got users experiencing this issue with Excel 2013 and version 10.1.1.254. Is there a hotfix or applicable solution to this issue?

Best Regards,

Hunter

Hunter,

Are you saying that the fix you included will resolve the issue when importing Excel docs that the Excel program will not crash?
