What is the path for upgrading from Agenda Manager 7.2 to version 9?
Question

Answer
You will first need to install Agenda Manager 8.0.2 on top of the existing Agenda Manager 7.2 installation. This will upgrade the database properly. Next, in order to install Agenda Manager 9 on the same machine, you'll need to first uninstall Agenda Manager 8.0.2. Once you have Agenda Manager 9 installed, then you can migrate the volume.

Agenda Manager 7.2 is currently running on Windows 2003 which will not support Agenda Manager 9. We plan to run Agenda Manager 9 on a newer Windows 2008 R2 server. Could you provide a little more detail with that in mind? I also would be like to do a trial run of the upgrade process before attempting on our live system. Any tips would be appreciated.
You can backup the Agenda Manager 7.2 database and volume and stand up a new installation of that on another Windows 2003 (or XP) machine. Then install Agenda Manager 8.0.2 directly on top of Agenda Manager 7.2. Once that process is complete, backup the Agenda Manager 8.0.2 database and volume and stand up a new installation of Agenda Manager 9 on the Windows 2008 R2 server. Make sure to then migrate the Agenda Manager 8.0.2 volume using the utility from Agenda Manager 9. Then during the Agenda Manager 9 configuration, just use the 8.0.2 database and the newly migrated volume.
Thanks for this post. I'm going to be going through this process to upgrade a customer from 7 to 9. They have been using Agenda Manager since 2002. We are trying to determine down time. Are there any metrics we can use to calculate how long it will take to migrate the volume?
