RepositoryUUIDUpdater Not working

asked on June 9, 2015

Hi Team,

RepositoryUUIDUpdater  is going to "Not Responding" mode when we try to run it.

We restored backup of an existing repository. When we tried to use register repository or Create new repository option with the newly restored backup, we recieved the error "Repository creation/registration" failed due to database error. Make Sure target database is empty. Please check event viewer of Laserfiche Server for more information. Error 9008.

We tried to run RepositoryUUIDUpdater

Its getting stuck after making below entries in the log

2015-06-09 10:24:16.099 Repository UUID update process begins
2015-06-09 10:24:16.099 DBMS Type: Microsoft SQL Server

2015-06-09 10:24:22.885 Update Table: activity_log - Columns:  asn

We are doing this exercise to replicate disaster recovery scenario where we have to use new application server, database server and volumes in a new location

Best Regards,

Srikanth

A case has been  was opened for this issue. We will update the thread once we have a resolution to the issue.

In this instance, there was no need to run the UUIDUpdater because Srikanth was not creating a duplicate of the SQL db.

They were running version 9.0.2.671 of the LF Server but trying to restore a 9.1.1 database. Upgrading the server to 9.1.1 then registering the repository to the server was all they had to do to restore from backup.

Hi,

While what you mentioned is correct for above case, UUIDUpdater is not working in the case where we try to use a copy of the database.

It is still getting stuck while updating activity_log.

Hello,

We are seeing this issue.  We are trying to restore a production repository/db to a test environment so that many of the repository settings are the same.  Please advise.

Ensure SQL Native Client 2005 is installed on the machine, there are cases where missing this version of SQL Native Client , prevent the utility from working properly, we have experience the issue in our office where we had SQL Native Client 2008 present but not 2005 , issue got resolved by installing SQL Native Client  2005.  From programs and Features, review the SQL Native Client version, in our system show 9.00.5000.00

In case the issue does not get address, kindly submit a case with support and attach to the case the Log file that gets generated by the tool.
