Question

Change Directory Server Licensing Site Name

asked on June 1, 2015

Can someone tell me how I can change the name of a Directory Server License Site, either through the front-end GUI of a Laserfiche product or via the backend SQL database, configuration file or registry, etc.

Many thanks, in anticipation.

With regards.

You can detach it and reattach it with a new name.

Keep in mind that you'll have to update the Licensing Site in Forms, Discussions, Web Admin Console configuration pages also. In addition, I had to regenerate the license file for the web client and LF Server.

I was wondering how you update this info in the apps.  When I go, for example, into Forms Configuration, I can change the site name but the SAVE button remains greyed out or inactive.  Was there a config file somewhere that needs to be changed?

Even though the button is greyed out, did you try clicking it? I've noticed that sometimes the color will not change but you can still click the button.

I followed these instructions this last weekend with our LFDS system and noticed that when I installed a new application that it was still using the old name in the install wizard. I then opened up the lf.licx file after the install was complete and noticed that it referenced the old name as well. LFDS shows the new name though. Is that to be expected?
