Question

Laserfiche and vSphere replication

asked on May 27, 2015

A Client of ours use vSphere replication to snapshot a copy of their Laserfiche Server Virtual Machine to an offsite data center.  They are encountering some VSS issues with the server that are likely VMware or OS related.

However, they wanted to confirm whether there any instances where the VMware vSphere replication will not play well with Laserfiche (what are these instances if any, what's the best set-up, etc).  Any info would be helpful.

The only thing you should need to watch for is licensing related - namely, if the replication process is changing elements that cause the application hwfp to no longer be recognized. Aside from that, there shouldn't be anything special about a VM environment.

What does "replication will not play well with Laserfiche" mean exactly? We use VMWare internally for testing.

Client basically wants to know if there are any instances or any info of VMware replication causing problems with Laserfiche on the OS level.
