Question

Audit Trail Website cannot display the page error

asked on May 22, 2015

I have Audit Trail 8.2 running fine on a Win Server 2003.  I need to move Audit Trail 8.2 to a Win Server 2008, where Laserfiche Software is installed.  I configured IIS V7 as prescribed below:

To install additional IIS 7 features in Windows Server 2008 (R2)

  1. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, then click Server Manager.
  2. In the Server Manager hierarchy pane, expand Roles, and click Web Server (IIS).
  3. In the Web Server (IIS) pane, scroll to the Role Services section, and click Add Role Services.
  4. On the Select Role Services page of the Add Role Services wizard, select the features you want to install.
    • Static Content (expand Common HTTP Features)
    • ASP.NET (expand Application Development)
    • IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility (expand Management Tools and IIS 6 Management Compatibility)
    • Windows Authentication (expand Security)
  5. Click Install.
  6. Restart if prompted

The Audit Trail service starts, but the I tried to configure I get Website cannot display page error.  I noticed that the Application Pool does not have a  AuditTrailAppPool.  Reinstalled, and Restarted the server multiple times, and I cannot get it work.  Any suggestions?   Thank you.

Well, you can create the App Pool from the IIS manager.  The Audit Trail app pool doesn't require any special settings, just .Net Framework 2.0.  I would worry that the missing app pool isn't the only problem though, just an easily visible one.  So if that doesn't fix it, I'd suggest working with your VAR to open a support case.
