SSL for Import Agent 8.1.1

asked on May 19, 2015 Show version history

Hi ,

One of our repositories is configured to work only on SSL . Listening Port is Set to 0.

Notification Port : 5051.

Is there a registry entry that we can change in Import Agent 8.1.1 so that it can connect to the repository using SSL.

We are not in a position to upgrade to Import Agent 9.0 which supports SSL at this moment.

I added UseSSL Registry key under profile as True. However, Import Agent profile is erroring out with the error

There was an error logging into the repository. - No response received from the server.)

Followed instructions at https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/9.0/en-US/AdminGuide/LFAdmin.htm#Using_SSL_TLS.htm%3FTocPath%3DLaserfiche%20Administration%20Guide%7CLaserfiche%20Server%20Administration%7CUsing%20SSL%2FTLS%20with%20Laserfiche%7C_____0 to enable SSL on Server

Import Agent 8.x did not support connecting to the Laserfiche Server using SSL. SSL support was added in Import Agent 9 so you will need to upgrade Import Agent if SSL is a requirement.

The main reason for not switching from 8.1.1 to 9.0 is because in 9.0, Import Agent started pulling documents from "Processed" folder as well when it is present as Sub-Folder of Monitored folder.

LSGSupport worked with us on this, identified it as a bug.  They informed that https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1013565 addresses this issue. However, Summary does not include issue related to Processed folders.

Is this issue fixed in this hotfix?

Our applications have jobs set up in the format %(Subfolder)\Processed when the document is successfully imported into Laserfiche and %(Subfolder)\IAError when  file fails to import.

On upgrading to Import Agent 9.0, It picked up thousands of old files which are stored in this structure

Can you please confirm if the issue is fixed in the hot fix

Srikanth

According to the support case that you had opened with them and the SCR that was subsequently filed, then yes KB 1013565 should resolve the matter. The SCR they actually filed was

The move option in Post-processing now correctly replicates the expected subfolder structure when using the %(Subfolder) token. (117179)

However, if the issue you are facing is actually something else and is not addressed by that Import Agent patch, then please contact LSGSupport again and refer back to the support case you had previously opened.
