Question

Question

Audit Trail loading data.

asked on May 11, 2015 Show version history

I did a LF Upgrade and migration from 8.3 to 9.2. Audit Trail is pointing to AUDIT folder where the logs are stored but when we try to load the data for the past 365 days the data loads for about 10 binary files (status - complete) & then shows queued. There are errors in the event viewer that the Laserfiche Audit Service cannot access the file as it is in use by another process.

I tried to remove the date range & load again but it does not work.

The old Audit Trail is shutdown so I am not sure what process is accessing the audit logs.

I have attached screenshots.

Is the issue only with that specific log file, laserfiche8-20140529-2.log? That file may be corrupt, which could lead to this issue.

It'd be best to open a support case and provide a copy of that log file in question so we can further review it.

*Edit*

The log file in question was corrupted. The issue was fixed by Laserfiche Support and the reseller confirmed that the audit log could now be successfully loaded into Audit Trail.

Can you clarify what you mean by Audit Trail being pointed to the AUDIT folder? Is this the same AUDIT folder that the live repository is actively writing to? Typically you would just configure Audit Trail to point to a specific repository and let the Laserfiche Server handle the other aspects of audit log file management. You'd just select the date range you want to report on in the Audit Trail configuration and then the proper logs will have their data loaded into the Audit Trail database.

Please provide in detail what data sources you have configured under the "Repositories" tab in the Audit Trail Configuration.

Hi Alex,

Sorry I meant that when I registered the repository it is mapped to the correct path where the Audit files are stored. Attached is the repository screenshot.
