One of the biggest complaints we hear from users and administrators about the Laserfiche scanning interface is that changing the scanner settings from color to black & white and/or grayscale and back is cumbersome and many times leads to excessive color scanning since it always remembers the last setting. If the drop-down were converted to 3 buttons that could be pressed by the scanner operator at any time to start scanning, this would save a lot of headaches and improve productivity.

Enhancement Request - Buttons in scanning interface for black & white, color or grayscale scanning - instead of a drop-down
Miruna, thanks for the response. If the button is there, nothing would prohibit them from pushing it, however, if the interface was built correctly, we could customize and add/remove these buttons just like we do other function buttons in the client today. In addition, the biggest issue isn't that users scan in color, it's that they scan in color and the UI doesn't reset to a default of black and white - it stays with the last setting. So, there are times when the user forgets to change it back to black and white and inadvertently scans in color, until they notice it again.
I'm not really clear on how 3 buttons would work? You'd have 3 separate buttons that would start scanning? What would prevent the user from clicking the "Scan in color" one?
