Question

Search Entry Access Rights

asked on May 7, 2015

Is there a way to find out all the folders that a specific User or AD group has entry access rights on without having to right-click on every folder and look at it's access rights to see if the user or AD group has rights there?  Looking for a search functionality that would look that up as right-clicking every folder would be incredibly time consuming...  (this question is about Acces Rights on folders in the thick client, not rights in Admin Console…).  Thanks!!!

Hi Kate,

Unfortunately I do not believe there is currently a way to find out all the folders that a specific user or AD group has entry rights to without manually right clicking the folder to check.

Hey Kate,

Though this is not quite solution you were looking for, it may still be helpful depending on your needs. There is a program in the Laserfiche Code Library that can verify the access rights to multiple folders in the repository without having to manually right click.

However, this is from the folder/file perspective rather than the user/group perspective in terms of of access rights.

Here is the utility with a user-friendly description of its functionality on our Laserfiche Solution Exchange.

Hope that helps somewhat!

Thanks Kevin!  I had a feeling that was the case but was hoping I was wrong.

Thanks - that's a neat reporting utility and I can see applicable uses, just not for this particular 'issue'.  Greatly appreciate the attempt though ;)

Additional question... will this be a future enhancement/feature of LF at some point (next version?)?

This item is on the to do list as a future enhancement/feature for our development team though when it will be implemented is still to be determined. Sorry I couldn't be more specific!

That is awesome!  I will be happy for it whenever that happens.  Thanks for the response.
