Is there a way to update the "created by" field for a document ?

Thank you.

Why would we want to overwrite it?  Because the Import Agent brings in documents and gives them all the ADMIN name.  It doesn't reflect who brought it in, or who the owner of the document should be.  This has been a significant frustration for those of us who are monitoring for quality control.  Last modified by doesn't necessary reflect who didn't bother to make sure the document was scanned properly or wrongly templated it.

I tried changing the Owner name in Properties, hoping that the Created By field would update to that.  It didn't.

I've now successfully created a WF to monitor the Incoming Scans folder.  When a new Template is set, it will change the Owner name to the user's name.

Hi,

I am looking for the same thing.

Is there any way with a script that you can update the creator?

Using SetToken() doesn't work for this.

We have the same situation, using the Move Entry activity to Copy a document. We need to keep the workflow initiator as the creator of the document.

Thank you

Thanks for your answer, i build a workflow to move documents from a source folder to a destination folder, so the "created by" field value will be equal to the workflow connection profile after the documents migration. Any workaround ?

Thanks.

Moving documents within the same repository does not change the creator information. If you are moving them between repositories, then the information is correct as they were created by Workflow.

I'm using the Laserfiche Action "Move Entry" in the same repository but I select the "Copy" option in the Action pane.

Ok, then, yes, you are creating copies of the documents, not moving them. So they are new documents created by Workflow.

No. The value is set at document creation time. Why would you want to overwrite it?
