"Replicate Entries" activity - how can I reference the destination copy?

asked on May 6, 2015

So I just started working with the (awesome!) "Replicate Entries" action in Workflow.

I have a workflow that will hand off documents from one Repository to another somewhere in the middle.

After the document is handed off to the next repository using "Replicate Entries" - is there a good way to pick up that document?

It seems that the "Replicate Entry" action only has "Destination Folder" as an output, not the entry or a collection of entries.  (I thought maybe I could do a "for each entry" but no collection for that either.

So...  any practical work around?

And, unless I'm missing something I'd like to add this as an enhancement request - that the Replicate Entries action provide the ability to reference the destination entries.

Thanks!!

There is no way to get those entries as a collection. Workflow does not know the entries it creates in the target repository, it just hands a briefcase to the Laserfiche Server for import.

But the import does generate Entry Created events in the destination repository, so starting rules in the target repository can pick them up that way.

Ah, ok.  It doesn't, but it should.  : )

I wanted to wrap this thing in a Business Process so we could track the time over the entire process.  I guess we can't do that yet.

I might try to see if I can figure out a less-clean workaround.  Like a delay, followed by a search in the destination folder for the entries.

Thanks Miruna!
