Can I have a Wait Condition for Folder Contents where shortcut has specific metadata?

I have a workflow that has a reference to a specific folder entry.
The folder contains multiple shortcut entries with a field set to "Pending".
I was hoping to have a Wait Condition which waits until the  Folder contains no entries with the Field set to "Pending".
I can get this to work fine with Document entries but it doesn't seem to work with Shortcuts for some reason.
Is there a way that I can use shortcuts for this or am I better off just using the Document entry? Or am I just doing something completely wrong?

Hi Eric,

 

It doesn't look like you can have the wait condition process entry shortcuts.

 

What's the overall process look like?

 

Could you accomplish the same goal by setting metadata on the folder itself instead of the shortcuts?

 

Or processing each document individually as their field status changes and then going back to batch treatment at a later point in time?

Folder contents conditions involving field conditions only work on documents and subfolders, not shortcuts at this time.

Like Carl said, if you describe the process, we can try for a better suggestion.
