Question

how do I know if a file or folder was moved manually?

asked on May 5, 2015

I have a folder that I know for a fact that a workflow did not move it there. How can I trace that folder and probably finding out who did it and when it happened?

Thanks!

May I ask where to get the Audit Trail Reporter user interface. I am pretty new in the laserFiche business.

If the Audit Trail module has been licensed, the reporting interface is accessed via a web browser.  Typically the  URL is \\LFservername\AuditTrail, where the "LFServername" is the server upon which Audit Trail is installed.

To determine if Audit Trail reporting is available, go to the LF Admin Console, highlight the server node and look at the Features list of licensed modules for " [Starter, Standard, Advanced] Audit Trail".

The Audit Trail reporter interface has to be installed separately for it to be available.  Please refer to this page for installation instructions.

You would need to use Audit Trail to look at the user actions on that folder.

Any idea as to where in the Audit Trail database that information might be?

You can use the Audit Trail Reporter user interface to generate a report of all activity on a specific folder ID, you don't need to dig through the database.

You can get a list of Audit Events here. Basically, you need to run an audit report and search for the Move event.
